Description
A single post chassis lift uses one heavy-duty vertical coloumn to elevate a vehicle off the ground, leaving the remaining sides completely unobstructed. Ideal for compact garages, mobile mechanics, and car wash bays, these hydraulic lifts typically support 2.5 to 4 metric tons and provide easy access for underbody cleaning and maintenance.
Key Features and Mechanics
1. Minimal Footprint: Because they rely on one central column rather than symmetrical anchoring on both sides, they maximize limited floor space and allow mechanics to easily move around the vehicle.
2. Electro-Hydraulic Power: These lifts usually feature a single-phase electric motor connected to a hydraulic pump. The hydraulic cylinder pushes fluid to raise the lifting arms or platform carriage along the post.
3. Lifting Capacities: Depending on the specific model, typical weight limits range from 3,500 lbs to 8,000 lbs (about 1.5 to 3.5 metric tons).
4. Portability: Many single-post lifts are designed to roll easily on a level concrete surface, allowing users to relocate them inside or outside a workshop as needed.
